A Indian Horoscope has twelve houses. The twelve houses of the horoscope classify twelve areas of our life. The beginning of each house is called cusp. Each house has natural sign and natural ruling planets. Each house is associated with sign and planet in the natural chart beginning with Aries and ending with Pisces.

This division places the houses in three groups naming - angular, succedent, and cadent. The houses that are on the angles are angular houses, the houses that follow immediately behind each angular house, the succedent houses, and the third in line, the cadent houses. Earlier it was believed that planets in the angular houses were somewhat stronger and planets in the cadent houses were weaker in control.
